UPS B Maintenance Notification – Battery Upgrade & Resilience Improvement

Scheduled on 10/03/2026 10:00:00 Status In-Progress Estimated finish 12/03/2026 16:00:00

Following our previous communications regarding the investigation into the B Feed UPS behaviour during recent brownout events, we are now proceeding with the planned resilience upgrade to the UPS B battery system.

As previously advised, our investigation concluded that the most probable contributing factor to the UPS response during the voltage disturbance was degradation within the existing battery string. To address this and improve system resilience, we will be upgrading UPS B to operate with dual battery strings.

Upgrade Overview
We have now received the required battery systems, consisting of two full battery strings (80 batteries in total). The remaining upgrade components are confirmed to be arriving on Monday, enabling us to proceed with the planned installation.

Once complete, UPS B will operate with:
• Two battery strings (80 batteries total)
• Increased redundancy within the battery system
• Improved resilience during supply disturbances

Maintenance Window
The upgrade works are scheduled as follows:

Date: Tuesday 10th March
Start Time: 10:00
Estimated Duration: Up to 6 hours

During this maintenance period, UPS B will be taken offline in order to complete the upgrade works.

Operational Impact
During the works:
• Circuit B will remain connected to mains power but will not have UPS battery protection.
• In the unlikely event of a grid power disturbance during this window, equipment connected solely to the B Feed may experience interruption.
• Circuit A will remain fully operational and protected by UPS at all times.

While no issues are expected during the works, the B Feed should be considered “at risk” for the duration of the maintenance window.

Customer Guidance
Customers operating single-powered equipment connected to the B Feed should consider their equipment at risk during the maintenance period.

If you are unsure whether your equipment is connected to the B Feed, please respond to this notification and we will be happy to confirm your current power configuration.

Engineering Works
Our engineering team will carry out the works on-site, and a UPS specialist engineer will be on hand throughout the maintenance window. The work will be completed as efficiently as possible in order to minimise the period during which the B Feed is without battery protection.

We appreciate your continued patience while we implement this upgrade, which will strengthen the resilience and redundancy of the B Feed UPS system.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss mitigation options, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

Date Action
10/03/2026 10:00:00 Dear Customer,

Please be advised that maintenance on the B Feed UPS commenced at 10:00am as planned.

We are now at the stage where the UPS will be disconnected from the battery string in order to begin the battery replacement. During this time, the B Feed should continue to be treated as "at risk."

We will provide a further update once the works have been completed.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Kind regards,

10/03/2026 15:40:00 Dear Customer,

Further to our earlier update regarding the B Feed UPS battery upgrade, we regret to advise that complications were encountered during the works which have prevented us from completing the planned upgrade installation today.

As a result, we have arranged for an additional specialist engineer to attend site, with a preliminary booking for the morning of Thursday 12th March. We are currently awaiting confirmation of the exact attendance time from the engineer and will update you once this is confirmed.

What This Means for You
The B Feed UPS remains in the same state it has been throughout the fault investigation period, this should continue to be treated as "at risk" until the upgrade is complete. There is no change to the current risk profile.

Circuit A remains fully operational and protected by UPS at all times.

We understand this is not the outcome we had planned for today and we apologise for the extended timeline. Our priority remains completing this upgrade as quickly as possible to restore full redundancy to the B Feed.

If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

12/03/2026 11:39:00 Dear Customer,

Please be advised that maintenance work on the B Feed UPS is now commencing (11:40 GMT).

Engineers are on site in Power Room B and will be disconnecting the existing batteries from the UPS before replacing them with two new battery strings. Redundancy is scheduled to be restored later today.

During this time, the B Feed should continue to be treated as "at risk." If you have single-powered equipment connected solely to the B Feed and have not yet been in touch regarding migration to the A Feed, please contact us at your earliest convenience.

We will provide a further update once works have been completed.

Apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your continued patience.

12/03/2026 15:39:00 Dear Customer,

We would like to provide a brief update regarding the scheduled maintenance in our data centre.

The UPS upgrade work has now been successfully completed, and our engineers are about to commence the final phase of testing to confirm the system is operating as expected.

During this phase there may be brief power transfer events while the system is validated, however these are part of the normal commissioning process. We will provide a further update once the maintenance has been fully completed.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our support team.

12/03/2026 16:29:00 Dear Customer,

Following our earlier update, we are pleased to confirm that the B Feed UPS battery upgrade has now been fully completed.

The new dual battery string configuration has been installed, commissioned, and successfully tested under load for 15 minutes. Our engineers are satisfied with the results observed during testing, and the system is performing as expected.

The B Feed is no longer classified as "at risk" and full UPS protection has been restored. UPS B is now fully operational with increased battery redundancy as planned.

We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process. We appreciate that the extended timeline was not ideal, and we are pleased to have this upgrade now in place, strengthening the resilience of the B Feed power infrastructure.

If you have any questions regarding the completed works or your power configuration, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,
