Outage: 6 hours\r\n\r\nWhy?\r\nWork is required to replace a damaged section of cable under controlled conditions to avoid a longer unplanned outage to services should it fail unexpectedly. \r\n\r\nWhere?\r\nThree circuits from Saxon House, Cheltenham to London. \r\n\r\nWhen?\r\nStart: 2026-04-30 23:00 GMT\r\nEnd: 2026-05-01 05:00 GMT\r\n\r\nNo service interruption is expected at the Saxon House data centre during this maintenance window. However, all network services should be considered at risk for the duration of the maintenance window. Portal notifications are only visible to customers who actively check the portal and do not trigger any outbound alerts.\r\n\r\nNow that Lumen have confirmed an issue on the fibre network between Newport and Swindon that may take some time to locate and rectify, we are upgrading this to a ticketed, notified incident to ensure all customers are kept directly informed as the situation develops.\r\n\r\nLumen have confirmed that a fault on the fibre network between Newport and Swindon has resulted in the loss of one of our redundant transit connections.\r\n\r\nPlease be assured that this incident affects only a single leg of our transit infrastructure. All other transit connections remain fully operational, and the data centre retains full internet visibility and connectivity. There will be a degradation or loss of service on this specific path whilst the work is completed.\r\n\r\nCustomer Impact\r\n\r\nCustomers with backhaul services between Telehouse and Saxon House may be affected during the maintenance window.\r\n\r\nCustomers within the Blynx AIM (Saxon House) data centre consuming transit are not expected to see any impact. <description><![CDATA[{"english":"Following our previous communications regarding the investigation into the B Feed UPS behaviour during recent brownout events, we are now proceeding with the planned resilience upgrade to the UPS B battery system.\r\n\r\nAs previously advised, our investigation concluded that the most probable contributing factor to the UPS response during the voltage disturbance was degradation within the existing battery string. To address this and improve system resilience, we will be upgrading UPS B to operate with dual battery strings.\r\n\r\nUpgrade Overview\r\nWe have now received the required battery systems, consisting of two full battery strings (80 batteries in total). The remaining upgrade components are confirmed to be arriving on Monday, enabling us to proceed with the planned installation.\r\n\r\nOnce complete, UPS B will operate with:\r\n\t\u2022\tTwo battery strings (80 batteries total)\r\n\t\u2022\tIncreased redundancy within the battery system\r\n\t\u2022\tImproved resilience during supply disturbances\r\n\r\nMaintenance Window\r\nThe upgrade works are scheduled as follows:\r\n\r\nDate: Tuesday 10th March\r\nStart Time: 10:00\r\nEstimated Duration: Up to 6 hours\r\n\r\nDuring this maintenance period, UPS B will be taken offline in order to complete the upgrade works.\r\n\r\nOperational Impact\r\nDuring the works:\r\n\t\u2022\tCircuit B will remain connected to mains power but will not have UPS battery protection.\r\n\t\u2022\tIn the unlikely event of a grid power disturbance during this window, equipment connected solely to the B Feed may experience interruption.\r\n\t\u2022\tCircuit A will remain fully operational and protected by UPS at all times.\r\n\r\nWhile no issues are expected during the works, the B Feed should be considered \u201cat risk\u201d for the duration of the maintenance window.\r\n\r\nCustomer Guidance\r\nCustomers operating single-powered equipment connected to the B Feed should consider their equipment at risk during the maintenance period.\r\n\r\nIf you are unsure whether your equipment is connected to the B Feed, please respond to this notification and we will be happy to confirm your current power configuration.\r\n\r\nEngineering Works\r\nOur engineering team will carry out the works on-site, and a UPS specialist engineer will be on hand throughout the maintenance window. During this work, obsolete equipment will be removed from the network, and any services still carried by the legacy platform will be migrated to our new infrastructure.\r\n\r\nWhen?\r\n\r\nMaintenance window: Saturday 7th March \u2013 Sunday 8th March 2026\r\nRisk window: Saturday 7th March, 20:00 \u2013 Sunday 8th March, 08:00\r\n\r\nWhat to expect\r\n\r\nNo service interruption is expected within the data centre during this maintenance window.
